Deep in the throes of a midnight daydream

Beguiling my mind, keeping my soul from a soft sleep

I see a silhouette in the moonlight-stained breeze

Beckoning me from afar

Though I hear not the silver dripping off his tongue

Sweet honeysuckle blossoms hanging off what he sung

I know he longs for another to breathe life into his lungs

Beckoning me from afar

Through the blinding moonshine I see now his face

I see my own eyes with a dolor-soaked grace

It is not a mirror, but a tomorrow that awaits

Beckoning me from afar

Such a trap, old as time, yet so easy to spring

Calling me to one day be he who will sing

With a silver-tongued sorrow hiding venomous stings

To beckon from afar
