There are so many pictures on my wall Big ones, little ones, all enthrall Some of smiley faces, some of cool planes In all of them, a simple life reigns
Places of my childhood Surrounded all in wood All these pictures hang on my big blue wall They show my past; I used to be so small!
But lately I have been caught up in so much These pictures seem more and more out of touch I just see so many places I would rather be So many people I would rather see
The trouble is not the past which they show But the future which I cannot know Will I still be that smiling boy? Bursting with excitement, bubbling with joy?
When I am sad or needing cheer I know I do not need to fear For I can, without fail, recall All these pictures on the wall
